Message from Markham Stouffville Hospital Foundation

In the 2024-2025 Fiscal Year, $12.965 million was raised. $12.735 million was given (disbursed) to MSH last year to help fund life-saving equipment and priority needs.

On March 5 2025, we honoured a very special milestone at Oak Valley Health’s Markham Stouffville Hospital (MSH) — our 35th birthday! Celebrating 35 years of caring for the communities of Markham, Stouffville, and beyond is a proud moment in our history, and it wouldn’t be possible without the passionate and loyal people at the heart of our hospital.

Hyundai Canada’s $500,000 donation

Last year, we invited our community to invest in a new Child & Adolescent Inpatient Mental Health Unit, an addition to the Gulshan & Pyrali G. Nanji Mental Health Services. Hyundai Canada kick-started our $3.1 million goal with a remarkable $500,000 donation, and to date, we are one third towards funding this much-needed unit, which would give kids in crisis a special place to heal at MSH.

The Carlo & Angela Baldassarra Centre for Diagnostic Services

Our community continued to inspire us, as we hosted a record number of familiar faces and new friends alike at our Healthy.Together. Speaker Series events. These two educational programs featured Oak Valley Health experts in cancer care and cardiology, who took to the stage to share their invaluable insights with a live audience.

Bear Necessities

We also honoured long-time supporters of MSH Foundation by unveiling the Carlo & Angela Baldassarra Centre for Diagnostic Services. The Baldassarra family have made profound contributions to MSH over the years and we are proud to celebrate their continued leadership in philanthropy.

If you supported MSH Foundation through Bear Necessities, with a personal donation, or by attending one of our galas, tournaments, or 5km runs, thank you. Your generosity enabled the final steps to bring a ninth operating room to MSH’s campus, which, after careful planning, is scheduled to be fully operational this upcoming year. Your support also went towards state-of-the art equipment, including a new fleet of birthing beds, an infant warmer, and an infant incubator for MSH’s tiniest patients cared for in the Stollery Family Centre for Childbirth & Children.

It’s because of you that MSH is the cornerstone of our healthy community — for the past 35 years, and for the next 35 years! Thank you for shaping the future of care with MSH Foundation.

Sincerely,

Suzette Strong
Chief Executive Officer, MSHF
